SpendLint

Privacy

Last updated

SpendLint has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no payments, and it does not set cookies of its own. It measures visits with two analytics services, Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, and it is hosted on Cloudflare. This page lists exactly what each one receives.

What the site collects

Google Analytics 4

Every page loads Google Analytics. Google sets cookies in your browser (their names start with _ga) and receives the page address, the page that referred you, your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the time of the visit. SpendLint uses the totals to see which pages people read. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy. You can stop it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or with a tracking blocker.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Every page also loads a small script from Cloudflare that counts page views and measures how fast the page loads. Cloudflare describes this service as cookieless.

Hosting and server records

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. To deliver a page, Cloudflare processes your IP address, the address you asked for and your browser details. Request logging is switched on in the project, so a record of each request, including the address with its query string, can be kept in the maker's Cloudflare account for as long as Cloudflare retains it.

Fonts

The site loads its typeface, Geist, from Google Fonts. Your browser requests it from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details for that request.
